Six months after my rhinoplasty (nose surgery), I still have a crooked nose, a dorsal hump, and asymmetrical nostrils. Despite our detailed pre-surgery discussions, the final outcome did not match what was initially discussed. The total cost was around 15–20% higher than the original quote. When I raised concerns, I was offered additional procedures at an extra cost instead of a proper resolution.

My Experience: Unexpected Costs and Hidden Fees
I paid approximately 200,000 PHP (around $3,450 USD) in total for my nose job, which was 15–20% higher than the original estimate provided by Dr. Divinagracia.
The surgery was performed at The Hospital at Maayo in Mandaue, Philippines, a facility chosen by Dr. Divinagracia herself. When I asked about the unexpected price increase, she told me it was due to hospital fees. However, since she was the one who selected the hospital, I did not anticipate such a price adjustment.
Additionally, I was charged for post-surgery follow-up appointments, something that many surgeons typically include in the initial cost. This experience raised concerns about how pricing is communicated at Clinical Divinagracia.
Post-Surgery Results: My Concerns with the Outcome
Six months after my rhinoplasty, I noticed the following issues:
- My nose was still crooked
- The dorsal hump was not fully removed
- My nostrils were asymmetrical

The additional charges mostly came from The Hospital at Maayo, not from Dr. Divinagracia personally. To her credit, the amount she initially provided (as the hospital's charge) was only an estimate, and when she noticed the hospital’s billing was higher, she actually tried to negotiate with the hospital and was able to secure some reduction (not much though).
That said, my concern remains regarding the unexpected price increase: From the beginning, our understanding was that we would be open and frank with each other. I told Dr. Divinagracia that I fully trusted her judgment throughout the procedure. She presented me with three hospital options and recommended The Hospital at Maayo, explaining that she worked there often and felt confident giving me an estimate based on that.
I am making this clarification in good faith, so there is no misunderstanding that the unexpected price increase was charged on Dr. Divinagracia’s behalf.
Edit/Clarification: I want to clarify a detail regarding the cost increase I mentioned in my original post. The hospital fee alone ended up being around 45% higher than what was originally estimated. However, when factoring in the total cost of the procedure, the overall increase was closer to 15-20%. To clarify, I meant that she later denied making certain verbal assurances that were discussed before the procedure. My frustration stems from feeling that what was verbally assured to me did not align with the outcome.
